Steve Lockard, based in Phoenix, Arizona, is Chairman of TPI Composites, Inc. (NASDAQ:TPIC), an Angeleno Group portfolio company. Mr. Lockard joined TPI in 1999 and led the company’s transformation from a New England-based boat builder to one of the world’s largest wind blade manufacturers. TPI achieved $1.4B in revenue and 18% global onshore wind market share in 2019. The company employs over 14,000 associates and operates 6 million square feet of factory space in the US, Mexico, China, Turkey and India, with additional engineering centers in Denmark and Germany. TPI is also developing high-strength, light-weight, composites solutions to support the electrification of vehicle fleets. Mr. Lockard became CEO in 2004, led the company’s Initial Public Offering in 2016, and moved to the Chairman role on May 20, 2020.
Mr. Lockard serves on the board of the American Wind Energy Association and the CEO Council for WindEurope. He also serves as an Executive in Residence and guest speaker at the W.P. Carey School of Business at Arizona State University.
Prior to joining TPI, Mr. Lockard spent 15 years in the electronics manfuacturing sector including serving as Vice President of Satloc, Inc., a supplier of precision GPS equipment. He was Vice President of marketing and business development and a founding officer of ADFlex Solutions, Inc., a NASDAQ- listed international manufacturer of electrical interconnect products. Earlier in his career Mr. Lockard held several marketing and management positions at Rogers Corporation. Mr. Lockard holds a BS in Electrical Engineering from Arizona State University.
