Dr. Brand, based in Sydney, Australia, is the founder and former Executive Chair and CEO of New Forests, a former Angeleno Group portfolio company. Dr. Brand is an international leader in sustainable forestry and nature-based climate solutions investing with over 40 years of experience in forestry investment, forest management, science, and public policy. Dr. Brand served as the inaugural Chair of the International Sustainable Forestry Coalition, an organization of 23 international forestry sector companies working to progress the transition to a nature- and climate-positive circular bioeconomy. Dr. Brand is a Managing Director of Arborcrest Investments, a company he founded. He is also the Director of the David Brand Foundation, which issues grants to organizations engaged in conservation and restoration of nature, social and community support programs, the arts, and tertiary education in conservation and sustainable forestry finance. Dr. Brand has a PhD in Forestry from the University of British Columbia and a Bachelor of Science in Forestry from the University of Toronto in Canada. He has been working with Angeleno Group for over 15 years.
