Mr. Zarb is a Senior Advisor to Promontory Financial Group. Between 2002 and 2018 he was a Managing Director at Hellman and Freidman. Prior to joining Hellman & Friedman in 2002, Mr. Zarb was Chairman and CEO of NASD, Inc. and the Nasdaq Stock Market. During the Ford Administration, Mr. Zarb was the senior official for all US government energy-related activities, serving as Executive Director of the Cabinet-level Energy Resources Council, Administrator of the Federal Energy Administration, and Assistant to the President for Energy Affairs. He led the nation’s energy response to the first major oil embargo in 1973. Previously, Mr. Zarb served as Vice Chairman and Group Chief Executive of The Travelers, Inc. and Chairman and CEO of Smith Barney. Before joining Smith Barney, he served as a Senior Partner at Lazard Freres & Co. and a General Partner at Goodbody and Co. Mr. Zarb has held several board positions in the financial services and energy sectors, including Credit Suisse, First Boston, Long Island Power Authority, and FPL Corporation (Florida Power and Light). Mr. Zarb has been a member of Angeleno Group’s Board of Advisors since 2007.
